March 2025 marks the 14th anniversary of the Syrian Revolution. Recognizing waves of emotions, including that of joy, hope and uncertainty during a momentous time for Syrians, CARRE’s Program Officer Leena Zahra shares her reflections as a Syrian American in a time of a liberated Syria. Spanning generations, the Syrian community both inside and outside Syria is still actively addressing decades of devastation, destruction and displacement, including trauma inheritance. There is still pain, as people continue to mourn places, people and memories lost, or are still in search of.
